Gate security with a record of who came in and who left

The Manorlogic security app lets a guard scan a visitor pass or type its six-digit code and see a clear yes or no. The server decides, and the gate log keeps the answer: who was let in, who let them in, and when.

How does the guard check a visitor?

The guard opens the security app and scans the QR code on the visitor's pass, or types the six-digit code if the QR will not scan. The screen shows a colour-coded verdict with the visitor's name, the host unit and the time window.

The guard then taps Entry. The server checks the pass again at that moment, so a pass that has expired, been cancelled or been used up is refused, even if the guard's screen was out of date.

More on how residents create passes: visitor access.

What if a visitor has no pass?

The guard sends a request to the host. The resident taps Approve or Deny on their phone. Requests nobody answers lapse after 15 minutes. One approval lets one visitor in once.

Guards can also log walk-ins and manual entries with notes. If the guard names the unit, that household is told someone has arrived.

What does the gate log record?

Entries and exits are recorded with who logged them and when. Entries are not edited. A correction is a new entry.

The gate console shows who is on site and who is expected today. Managers can export the log as a spreadsheet.

Parcels

Residents tell the gate a delivery is coming. When it arrives, the guard logs the parcel with photos and the household is told. Later the guard marks it released to the household or returned to the courier.

The parcel log shows how each delivery ended.

How do panic alerts and incidents work?

A resident can press and hold a panic button, choosing security, fire or medical. After a short countdown, with a Cancel, the alert goes to guards and managers with the resident's unit named.

Guards and managers can acknowledge an alert, and managers close it out.

Guards also file incident reports from the gate app: theft, dispute, damage, fire, medical, utilities or other.

The panic button is shown on this site as a picture only.

How does a shift handover work?

The outgoing guard records a handover. The next guard sees who is still inside and what incidents are open. Managers can read the handovers too.

Does this watch the guards?

The point of the log is to settle arguments with a record: the pass was valid, the resident approved, and this is the time. A guard can show what happened.

Questions about the gate

Who can see the gate log?

Managers and guards can see it, and a resident sees activity on their own passes. Managers can export it as a spreadsheet.

Does the guard app work without a connection?

No. The gate app needs a connection today.

Are parcel signatures supported?

The parcel log records photos and how each delivery ended. It does not capture a recipient's signature.
